I am a believer in education of all types.  Formally, I graduated from North Penn High school in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, then Temple University in Philly, followed by Widener University, where I got my Masters of Social Work.  I then went on to enroll in the University of Parenthood, where I learned that nothing I had learned up to that point would make me even a little bit better at my most important job... Dad.  I am currently majoring in 5 areas of study, one for each of my amazing children.  Each course of study is very different from the last, and when they say "there is no manual", they mean it!  U of P is a great educational institution that teaches humility, pride, love, frustration, fear, and an an unvarnished level of self awareness that you just cant get anywhere else.   It is also an institution that you never graduate from, to which I say, thank God!

From my first job of selling candy out of my basement at 10 years old, to CEO of a hospital many years later, and every job in between, I have always tried to learn from the most powerful teacher I have ever encountered...  My own mistakes.  some have been little, some have been huge, but each one has taught me a valuable lesson, not the least of which is whenever possible, don't repeat them.  Making mistakes in inevitable... learning form them is optional.
